Carolynne is a teacher at the Downley School in Downley, Buckinghamshire. She is originally from Bishops Falls, Newfoundland, Canada. She arrived in the UK in September 2018.
Carolynne completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada in 2016. She focused in classical vocal studies, performing in chamber choirs, small baroque ensembles and the university opera performance program. She performed lead roles in productions such as Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte. During her time here, she also performed with the operatic group Opera Lyra at the National Arts Centre.
In 2018, Carolynne completed her Bachelor of Music Education at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Here, she performed with the MUN Opera company as well as taught private music lessons for Reid’s Music and MAX Arts. She became artistic director for MAX Music where she led summer programs, music theatre classes and a women’s choir as well as taught private voice and piano lessons.
Carolynne is very excited to begin teaching at LEAP. She is looking forward to working with the students on their upcoming productions.
